ASDIN’s New List-serve for Members Only!
ASDIN continues to enhance their services for members. A recently added feature to their website is the List-serve. List-serve is an e-mail based discussion forum. This is a great educational tool that can also be used to network, share information and discuss clinical issues/cases. KidneyMobile
The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois (NKFI), is sponsoring a program that provides kidney screening and education while on the move. KidneyMobile was first launched in November 2005 and continues to support communities. Through this program, services such as, diabetes, blood pressure, glucose testing, and follow-up visits are offered. To date, over 8,000 people have been screened.

NIDDK Conducts Research on Early Stages of CKD
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a severe disease which causes damage to the kidneys and decreases the ability to stay healthy. Children that are affected by CKD are “30 times more likely to die than children in the general population.” The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) is conducting a study to learn about the early stages of CKD in children. From this study, researchers anticipate being able to reduce the risk of CKD in children and promote long-term health.
