Organ and tissue donors are always in high demand. In an effort to increase the number of donors, the transplant community sponsors the “Donate Life” float in the New Year’s Rose Parade. The Rose Parade is held annually in Pasadena, California. The Donate Life float is a national tradition supported by over 50 organizations, including OneLegacy, a non-profit organ and tissue recovery agency.

On January 20, 2008, The Renal Support Network will host their 9th Annual Renal Teen Prom at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. The prom is held for teenagers and young adults with kidney disease. This free event has been scheduled on a Sunday to avoid conflicting with dialysis treatment. This “Winter Elegance” is sure to entertain all that attends.

The HealthLine is FREE educational program sponsored by AAKP (American Association of Kidney Patients). The one-hour conference call is designed for patients, caregivers and professionals who need help managing the physical and emotional effects of kidney disease.
