The American Kidney Fund has announced its 2007 Patient Scholarship Program. “Scholarships will be awarded for education or training in nephrology related health professions.” This is a great opportunity for those with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

The new reality series “Hope Street” was created by patients, family members, and physicians. “This is the first reality series that depicts the lifestyle of patients and their caregivers living with kidney disease.” See what’s happening in this week’s episode.

Renal Support Network’s new Kidney Talk is out. This week’s show is called “Sit, Fit for Life.”
This week on KidneyTalk Lori and Stephen visit with Dan Bayliss, Clinical Coordinator of the SitFit exercise program at the University of Virginia Renal Services department. Dan discusses some fun and creative ways to exercise and tells us why it’s so important for our health.

The AAKP has announced that this years Annual Convention will be held in St. Louis, MO, Aug. 30 – Sept. 2, 2007.
“Be prepared to learn the most current information about kidney disease, treatment options and key tips to living with the effects of kidney disease. Not only are attendees thoroughly educated during the Convention, they also have the opportunity to meet and interact with individuals who have similar experiences and deal with the same issues that go along with kidney disease.”

The Renal Support Network (RSN) launched a new kidney disease information website last week called Kidney Times. The articles are all written by patients or health care professionals and have more of a magazine like vibe to them. You can also find several recipes here and I’m sure the list will grow.
